The microbiome is becoming recognzied as an important contributor ot immune and inflammatory diseases. Other than HUS, is there any role of the microbiome in renal disease.

Detection of AKI by serum creatinine is quite delayed because changes in creatinine lag behind changes in renal function. A panel of biomarker, preferably serum biomarkers, that detects all forms of AKI would be helpful for clinical trials to test novel AKI therapies.

Progression of CKD is slow and relentless. Rather than slow or halt progression, why can't we regenerate new nephrons. Fish can do it.
